2013 Northwest Christian Renewal Conference - May 17th and 18th

Come On Home...

...with Keynote Speaker: Jane Kirkpatrick, homesteader and cherished Northwest novelist.

Jane Kirkpatrick is internationally recognized for her 20 published books, 17 of which are historical and often set in the American West. Several of those books have been Book of the Month and Literary Guild selections.

Jane grew up in a little town not far from the Mississippi River. Within 50 miles of her home lived dozens of cousins, an extended family that flowed with shared experiences and stories told and retold. Not about to be tied down, however, Jane received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and later became the first female president of the Oregon Community Mental Health Directors Association and a mental health and educational consultant on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation.

But the settings which drew readers to her books were rife with rattlesnakes, sagebrush, homesteading, and the stark beauty of the John Day region of Central Oregon. Pioneer life seeped deeply into her veins and spilled onto the pages of her books. She believes divine healing and transformation come from the power of our stories.

How long has it been since you last attended the Northwest Christian Writers Renewal? Too long? Make this the year you come home. Or perhaps you’ve never attended.
